The original TR 30 Series was the first Four Ball Tester on the market that combined the robustness required for Extreme Pressure (EP) tests and the sensitivity required for Wear Preventive (EP) tests in a single machine. Our latest generation of this tester improves on its performance and accuracy.

The Ducom four ball tester TR-30L series can be equipped with the KRL shear stability attachment to determine viscosity loss of lubricants according to the CEC L-45-99 test standard. Ducom offers also a KRL standalone tabletop tribometer.
We also offer a stand alone KRL Shear Stability Tester (SST-1), especially designed for users interested in long duration shear stability tests.
The RCF option was designed to asses the tendency of lubricants to produce fatigue failures in rolling contacts. This attachment includes a recirculation system, a specialized ball pot, a pitting detector and a software update.
The High Speed Option enables high speed operation of the TR 30 Series tester, by tripling its maximum speed. This option is a useful addition to the Rolling Contact Fatigue Attachment since it can reduce the test time by up to 70%. This option is also useful for customized test plans requiring high sliding speeds.
Every Four Ball Test is concluded by measuring the wear scar on the test specimens. It is the most manual aspect of any four ball testing and is prone to user errors and interpretation. Difficulty in visual observation of scars further increases the test variability.
With our proprietary automatic scar prediction software, you can now harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to automatically make consistent and precise wear scar measurements, overcoming the human error and greatly reducing the test variability.
